Hi,
Has anyone noticed what seems like a Microsoft defect in the BOM cost shares page concerning the setup cost of a sub-BOM? The setup cost gets multiplied by the qty per top item. This is wrong because the setup is independent from the quantity per top item i.e. the setup is only done once per run regardless of the number of units being processed.
For example, the parent item below includes a runtime cost of $100 and setup cost of $150 for a total capacity cost = $250.
| Parent | |||
| cost / minute | total | ||
| Runtime minutes | 10 | 10 | 100 |
| Setup minutes | 15 | 10 | 150 |
| Total Parent Cost | 250 | ||
Now if 2 units of the above parent item is used in another BOM, you would expect the capacity cost to be 100 + 100 + 150 = $350 but if you run the BOM cost shares page the rolled up capacity cost for the line shows $500. So it is adding the $150 setup cost twice and it should only be done once.
