"Document Locations" entity is Read-only in Unified Interface.

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

When ever i tried to create new record for "Documents Locations", i am getting the error like, "Selected entity is read-only for this client.".

Note : "Document Locations" is not custom entity. It's out of the box entity.

Thank you so much Henry. We raised a ticket with Microsoft.

Surprisingly in Trail version "Document Locations" Entity is not read-only.

    Hi Harsha,

Document Location is a bit of a special entity with a technical purpose of mapping Dynamics 365 records with SharePoint locations.

This issue here is that when the "Unified Interface Only" mode is on in your environment, Document Locations records are opened in a new window in the Unified Interface, and so they are displayed in a read-only form.

The only workaround I know is to add &forceClassic=1 to the URL so that it renders in the legacy web client.

I suggest that you open a Support Request this is properly fed back to our teams: admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/support

    Henry
