Use If/Then in Word Templates?

I'm showing a list of related Products in an Opportunity Word Template.  I need to group, sort, and subtotal the Products in a specific order.  Is it possible to apply WordMerge formula functionality to the Word Templates that are linked to Dynamics 365?  

This is a great article about if/then functionality in WordMerge templates.  I've tried without success of using this function in D365 Word Templates.  Is the functionality not supported?  Or am I missing something on the syntax?

    Use bookmarks instead crmtipoftheday.com/.../conditional-values-in-word-templates

    Thanks Joe!  Ultimately, I wasn't able to use bookmarks since I want to filter/group  Opportunity Products (N:1) in a table format in word.  But this is definitely the approach I'll use in other Word Templates.
