Hi All,

from the below link, i created site settings. in my case record is not saving but it's not displaying error.

https://community.dynamics.com/crm/b/thinkdynamicdodynamic/archive/2018/03/22/display-dynamics-365-plugin-errors-on-portal

i searched some other blogs and MS documents Disable custom errors and Enable diagnostic logging on portal actions, if i did that things, my portal is restart.  so here my question is my portal customisation will lose or any effect to previous development things...???

Thanks,

CM

    Hi,

Are you using custom web template or oob page template. CRM Plugin errors don't propagate on custom web templates even after setting these site settings. Try switching page template to oob "Page" and verify.

    Enabling/disabling/Restarting won't impact your customizations.

    Hi CM,

No, disabling custom errors and enabling diagnostic logging will not make you lose any development work.  All of your work is stored in Dynamics - restarting the portal is simply restarting the Azure web app that hosts the code for the portal, which you can't edit anyways.

    Hi,

Ensure that your plugin is triggering on the action you are performing in portal. Best way is find is to use the same form in CRM and perform the same option i.e. create/ update and see if you are getting the plugin error. I struggled a lot initially with these and found couple of bugs as well related to this but seems to be working fine for me now.

Do note that there are 2 actions/options, "Restart Portal" - This will simply restart your portal keeping all your data whereas "Reset Portal" will reset your portal to its initial state.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi CM,

As Ravi mentioned, there are 2 different functions available to you: reset and restart.

Restart simply reboots the Azure Web Application associated with your portal.

Reset deletes the Azure Web Application associated with your portal.

In either case, your existing development is contained in data within your Dynamics environment - neither of these options will touch this data (the reset option does not uninstall the Portal solutions from your Dynamics 365 instance).

So while with either of these options you won't lose your data, I'd advise you not to reset your portal, as this probably won't help.  Instead, try restarting.
