I also have a similar requirement. I have two entity lists(Manager records, and employee records).I have two web roles(Manager, Employee). Now I need to show the entity list based on the web role. If logged in user web role is Manager, then I need to show the manager records list and if the web role is employee, I need to show the employee records list

You can achieve above scenario by setting up proper web Role and Entity permission in the CRM for Portal User.
Setting up Entity permissions links a specific CDS entity to a web role.
On the entity permission record you can specify the scope and permissions, which will allow you to secure CDS data on the portal.
