Create a new PowerPlatform environment and link it to out D365FO environment

Hi all,

The company I work for started about 3 years ago with D365FO. The supplier they had made a big mess of the PowerPlatform environment. The fastest way to solve this would be to create a new PowerPlatform environment and link it to the D365 production environment and then enable dual write and the required Apps again.

But... I can't seem to find any documentation on this. Is this possible ? Does anyone know how to do this ?

Thanks !
Gerard

Short update: I created a ticket at MS and they are working on this.

Thanks for the clarification. I can fully understand why you want to start from scratch now.

    Hi Jonas and André,

First of all: Thanks for your reply !

    There are two things 'wrong':

    1. Although  we disabled a lot of Tables/entities in Dual Write in D365FO, the tables are still being synced to DataVerse. We already had a look at this with our new supplier, but we cannot figure out why this is happening.
    2. There are about 20.000 objects in the PowerAutomate Default solution that should not be there. They are from an old project that never went live and should not be in there. And they should not be in the Default solution anyway... Going through this manually, identifying what needs to go and what needs to stay, and deleting them in the correct order (due to dependencies) is almost impossible. Furthermore a lot of these these objects have not been prefixed or whatever so it's hard to figure out what belongs to the Default solution and what not.

I will raise a ticket with MS and see what they can do for us.

    Thanks a lot !
    Cheers,
    Gerard

    Hi Gerard,

As Jonas mentioned, you should contact Microsoft Support for this. There is no self-service available as it is not intended to break the connection between Dynamics 365 F&O and a linked Power platform environment. Like Jonas, I would like to understand what you mean by the mess. Maybe there is a workaround possible.

    Hi Gerard,

To answer your question: It is possible, I've done this a few times back at my former job. You can raise a support request to Microsoft and ask them to do it

Are you running any micro services, like planning optimization?
What mess is it that the vendor made? Since you are running Dual-Write I assume there is more to this than just linking to a brand new environment.
Do you have it linked against a D365 CE app?
