Xpo import

Hi! I'm a novice in Dynamics AX 2012. I've got .xpo file, which I need to import into the system, but at the same time changes, which were made before, should be saved. In import I can compare system code and xpo code, but it always delets all exciting changes. So how can I import xpo code without deleting existing one? Thanks for your help in advance:-)

You'll have to merge the changes manually (i.e. not importing the whole object). You should see arrows for adding and removing code directly in the code compare form. Simple copy & paste is another possible solution.

Thanks for your reply, Martin. For existing code I always see arrows for removing. What should I do with them to save this code?

As per my understanding your scenario is where you need both existing code and new code form XPO

so in thins scenario you need to merge the code as Martin said,

So for this case you should not click the 'OK' button on the compare form

    you should you the arrows

and in you scenario you need to click only the insert arrows (for code from XPO)

Please note above steps are followed when code to merge are very simple and not showing as if then are mixed,

so in this scenario I normally go for manual copy paste of the required code,

at time we need to rewrite the logic too

Please verify and let me know if you need any more technical support related to this.

After you made the change with the Compare tools, look up the changed object in AOT and saves it. =]
