D365 app for Outlook - Track meetings not in my calendar

Posted on by 32

Hello everyone,

We have found that when a user tries to track an appointment via D365 app for Outlook that is not in his calendar but rather in the calendar of a colleague who has been previously shared with him…the meeting is pending for several minutes (30 min and more )

The tracking of thoses meetings ends up failing and, in few cases, becomes successful. This has been little frustrating for users as they have to continually validate the success of their appointment tracking in CRM.

Whereas when a similar appointment with the same parameters (attendees, room, etc.) appearing in the calendar of the person trying to track it, it is successfully tracked in almost real time.

You will understand that in my client's business model, this a recurring scenario where: A secretary or an assistant wants to be able to easily track the appointment of the professional responsible of the appointment without having to be part of the attendees.

Do you have any possible solutions?

Thank you.

    Hello,

I would suggest to check if the issue is only occurring with that single user or is it happening with multiple users in the organization?

Can you confirm if everything is set up correctly as per the Microsoft document : docs.microsoft.com/.../enable-delegate-access

    - was this working fine before if yes when did you start seeing this issue?

    - Did you try to re-deploy the app for outlook for the users having problem?

    - Does this issue occurs in OWA (outlook web app) as well?

    - It could be network issue for that users if it is only happening with that user may be trying on different work and check might help

    - also it could be machine specific sometimes so you can also ask user to try on different machine as well.

try above things and see if any of above things help resolve the issue or get a mitigation.

if you still face the issue I would suggest to go ahead and raise ticket with Microsoft support .
