I can't connect to database in POS 2.0 administrator

I am trying to connect with database in Microsoft Dynamics POS 2.0. I don't know username and password.  Username appears to be "sa" and I tried different passwords like sa, pas$w0rD, sa1 etc but everytime i get error message " Sql server does not exist or access is denied".

Is there a way to reset the password to connect to database.

Thanks

Did you ever get a response from anyone?  I am trying to access an old POS system for my company and none of the passwords are working. Cannot access the sa user with passwords sa or allowme as suggested below.

Tried to change the Rms.config, located in C:\Microsoft Dynamics - Point of Sale,
    with Notepad

    Change the line
    <initialized>True</initialized>
    to
    <initialized>False</initialized>

But it would not save. Every time I closed the file and re-opened it, it was set to True :(

    Hello,

I believe the SQL password is that is forgotten. This can be reset to new one. Have a look at this article

    www.tech-recipes.com/.../sql-server-2005-how-to-reset-a-forgotten-password-for-the-sa-account

I did manage to reset in our old SQL 2005 when I took over 5 years after it was installed and no one new of any passwords. As I remember I used a different method, if you do not succeed I will dig up and let you know.

    Good luck

    Mabuhay!

Yes Sir Neos is correct, try edit your sql login account and point that access on your database. Change or view your table Cashier to see whats on your password for that account.

    Goodluck :)

I do not have the SQL Server Management Studio that this link suggests:

    Try this MS site.

    www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

It should have SQL Server Management 2008 Express. This the one I used.

Use SQL Server Manager, login with Domain or PC user ( if avaliable) and reset sa password, or create new user for use with dynamics RMS.
