Unable to export default solution after April 2020

In April 2020 and for months/years prior, I was able to export the default solution in our Microsoft Dynamics 365/CRM Online environment. I typically do this for backup purposes. Now in May 2020, I get an error:

"Exporting the default solution is not supported. To export components, add them to a custom solution. If you contact support, please provide the technical details."

I can't find when this changed specifically; I see articles recommending not making customizations in the default solution, but unfortunately, it has been built this way over the past several years. Any suggestions on what to do next?

    Hi BIMalippiatt,

    According to our documentation docs.microsoft.com/.../export-solutions

    "We recommend that you create an unmanaged solution to use for exporting your customizations. Then, export your customizations periodically so that you have a backup in case anything happens. You cannot export managed solutions. You can either export solutions from Power Apps or you can export using the classic experience."

    This change started on early April, however, you can see from the documentation date that was announced at least on late January.
