Periods Within Planning Sheets

Posted on by 115
Hello Experts, thank you very much for taking the time to read my question and share your knowledge.

I am a little frustrated since I have been trying to understand for several weeks why it does not work as I have ever executed this action, below I will explain my scenario.

In January 2023, execute the following report as follows within the planning sheet

Once it finished it showed me something like this
It gives me 52 lines which belongs to our forecast that we load into the system (All lines belong to a Sunday of the month)

When I go to see the list of components of that product, it also shows me the materials correctly, but within it there is a product that is semi-finished and uses different components, which I will mark with a yellow line.

So I decided to run the report again but now with the following filters

And it generates another 52 Lines based on the 52 where it appears as a component and this really works perfectly for us.

Subtracting one day from the date where that component is needed to generate a couple of lines like this

This works for 2023
I'm trying to do practically the same thing but now I'm trying to do it with dates from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024
I show screens of what I do...

It shows me the lines correctly here on the correct dates...

But when I ran the report for the second time filtered to the semi-finished product (PSN001) that is in the components of the finished product with the number PSN0001, it summarizes everything in 1 line and not like when I did it for the 2023 forecast, looking more or less like this:

He summarizes everything in a single line and he no longer believes the lines for 2024, he stays until the last day of December 2023
My question is, what do I need to configure or do within the system so that the forecast comes out like when I run it with dates of 2023?

Again, I appreciate the time you took to read my post and for any kind of help I've been dealing with this for a while and I really don't know what to do...
greetings and good night

Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with me, this helped me a lot and I managed to obtain the result I expected.

In fact I had no periods in my Machine/Work centers.

    Thank you very much again

This looks like a calendar issue.  Have you calculated capacity for your Work/Machine Centers in 2024?  My wild assumption is the system isn't properly planning the work center capacity in 2024, so it is lumping all the material on the last available capacity day of 2023.  I would suggest calculating the capacity of your Work/Machine Centers for 2024 and see if this resolves your issue.

My next thought if the above doesn't resolve your issue is to check your Shop Calendar to ensure you have it established for 2024.  This is what your capacity calculation uses, so it may be the restriction as well.

Let us know if you find the calendar that is causing the restriction.

    Best Regards,
