Scrap Percentage on Item card

What is the use of scrap percentage on item card when item is use as component.

Today i put value 30% scarp in item card which is used as component.

Now when I am making production order of parent item from planning worksheet. Production Order component is same as BOM, it is not increased by 30%. As per theory i read it must show 30% extra but  it didn't.

Please suggest.

Scrap defined on component items increases the quantity picked for consumption. This means more units of the component is picked and consumed. You'll need to test the picking process and see how many are listed on the pick sheet, and how many are consumed when you register the pick.
