Hi, there is only one way to increase the number of Sandboxes, and that is to purchase a new Production environment. A new Production environment will come with 3 free Sandbox environments.

Hi,

As mentioned, Business Central subscription types give each Business Central customer one production tenant and three sandbox tenants free of extra charge. If the customer requires more production tenants, they can buy additional tenants through their CSP partner.

Each additional production environment comes with three additional sandbox environments.

Is there a future plan for the ability to purchase additional sandbox environments only? we aren't interested in having multiple production environments. Alternatively, we wouldn't need more sandbox environments if we could install AppSource Apps into a docker container, but I have not seen any mention of that recently.

As an ISV, we are running into the limitation on Sandboxes constantly.

We brought this issue up a year ago at the 2024 Directions conference and were told that there would be a solution available soon.

Since then, ISV's can purchase discounted BC Sandbox licenses, which we tried to do, but later were told that this license does not add sandboxes but rather allows more users to access the existing 3 sandboxes. So, still no solution.

If we must, we would be willing to pay for additional sandboxes for development and support purposes.

This issue is making it difficult to support BC customers.

As of now, it is not possible to purchase the Sandbox environment separately.

No, you cannot unless you buy the second production instance you will have another 3 sandboxes.
