Why we cannot use email template with workflow

Posted on by 140

My requirement as follows,

I wanted to generate auto reply mail to from one of my queue.

I have setup a workflow to send auto email to sender once it received any new email.

If I send email without email template, it worked.

If I use email template for the same failed with error msg “Invalid argument”

Any idea?

    Hi arzaidi,

I'm having a same problem like yours , I can't see To,CC,BCC fields as well. Could you please suggest me what should i do ?

I'm creating email template which is named 'A' and I have a workflow from where i'm calling that email template by adding step Send email- Use Template - Custom entity(admissions application) - select created Email template 'A'.

My question is from where i can able to see recipient .

Workflow set up is like Available to Run :√ Run this workflow in the background   ,  Scope : Organization

Start when : Record field change

So i got this process in waiting mode with this message 'Email must have at least one recipient before it can be sent'.

    i'll really appreciate your help.

    Thank you so much,

    Piny

You should be able to send email with template as well. Do you have the workflow configured as following:

    - In your workflow, Add Step ->Select Send E-mail.

    - For Send e-mail, select Use Template.

    - Click Properties.

    - In the Send E-mail Using Template form, specify the From: as the queue you want to send the email, To: as Customer, choose your template type and template, specify Regarding as your case.

    - Click Save and Close in Send E-mail Using Template.

    - Save your workflow and activate it.
