I am on GP 2013 SP2 and all of a sudden my power user is unable to open the smartlist window. Any ideas what could have caused this?
The window won't open for this user on any workstation but still works fine for other users and sa.

Thanks Jonathan, this helped me fix an issue for a customer today! Looks like it's still not fixed in GP 2016.

This worked for me too. I would love to know how this could happen on this user's GP account settings. It was driving me nuts because it would happen on different PC's for the same user. Thanks for the answer!

If everyone is having the problem - sounds like data ---if not
Try to move the problem --- go to different machine --- if it work s sounds like the machine ...maybe re-install ..... If it does not work on different machine sounds like the user -- Check credentials of user and other security components -
If a power user - check security from someone that is working properly - change security one Role at a time

Thank You for this. I had the same problem on a GP 2015 where I can see smartlist was open but could not see it. Right clicking and choosing maximise opened it

This ended up being the same bug that Jonathan mentioned. The value for SYUSERDFSTR in the sy01402 table somehow got changed for this user. This was resolved by updating the value to match another user that was not experiencing this issue. Thank you all for your help.
Here is what worked for me. Prior to trying any of these tips, I tried to run Smartlist, did not see it open but I did see it running in Task Manager. I then applied these changes to the DEX.INI file
WindowMax=TRUE
NoteWindow=-123,-108,1366,719
WindowPosX=223
WindowPosY=16
WindowWidth=808
WindowHeight=768
After making these changes, Smarltist still not appear but this time when I hovered over it I got the options that Victoria mentioned and I was able to click Maximize. Smartlist would then open and then close and open again. In my case I think is was the WindowPosX, it was a negative 2. I think this made it open outside of the normal screen parameters. Hopefully this will help others.
