I tried this on my trial environment, and I did not encounter this problem.
Also the error message does not seem to be very helpful in this scenario.
You can try to capture the web request and response sent by your browser to the server, with the network tools or with fiddler, to see if you can get more details on what the error is.
However I would advise you to open a ticket with Microsoft support, so they can investigate this further.
