Link to document does not open in Google Chrome

Hello everyone

Our customer keeps a like to an on-prem location of a document stored on-premise via a hyperlink. This looks like below

However when trying to open this link (Browser used = Chrome) the link does not open:

When working with anothter browser like for example Edge, everything seems to work fine here. However chrome is the preferred browser and the customer wished to continue to use this browser when using the D365FO application.

Already investigated/tried paths

- Adding site in trusted sites

- Installing newest versions of Google Chrome.

In essence the problem will ly with chrome, not Dyn365FO but I was wondering whether anyone here might already experienced an issue like this?

Dear Christopher,

Probably chrome has some changes with chrome 80 version.

Thanks for sharing this documentation.

However, I did not seem to find anything that helps to resolve the issue.

Any other ideas?

Dear Christophe,

If this issue specific to one user it could be a client specific user issue but if its everyone seeing similar pattern in Chrome there should be a repair item with the chrome . Possibility you can file an internal ticket with Microsoft support team under D365 FO and could get back to you on this if there is any known issue or recommendations.
