Customer Statement Report sending out duplicate emails

Hi

We have recently configured to send out Customer Statements in D365 automatically via email to our customer accounts and the beginning of each month. This month when the batch job ran, the emails were sent correctly however the job went into a continuous loop and kept sending out duplicate emails. We had to abort the batch job to prevent further emails being sent out.

-Used the Customer Statement (Excel) from LCS
-Filters used to only select invoices and send out to invoice accounts only and exclude one customer.
-Batch job to run at the 1st of every month.

Has anyone come across this and how d we tell the system to only run the query once?

Thanks

    Hi,

Can you show the batch "Recurrence" you setup?

Has there been a solution to this?.. we are experiencing the same thing.  Only happens on large batches.

    Hi D365BBLUser,

    I Don't think so...
Can you check this for me? My assumption is that's it's retrying because of a single failed print.

You can add "Actual retries" and Maximum retries" by right clicking and selecting "Insert columns".

    Hi

We finally resolved this issue by updating a parameter on the batch job , under batch details select the general tab and change maximum retries from 5 to 0. When the job encountered an error it would go back to the first statement and start processing again. By changing this field it now only sends one email, if there is an error it continues and just adds to the messages once the job has been completed.

I believe we found the issue, there were a number accounts that had purpose as "Statement" (this is what we used for the contact type) with type "phone" instead of "email" (there were 6 accounts).  After deleting these records, the duplication went away (only tested in sandbox but hopefully we get same results in production).

Do we set the max retries here to avoid it retrying 5 times.( is this the default=5?).

We didnt have any issues with our contacts and soon as we changed the maximum retries to 0 this resolved the issue.

Yep, that will do it. Just as Reshma mentioned 😊
You could also configure the print to use parallel processing, pretty nifty thing.

Thanks all... great information here.  Didn't think to look at the batch settings as we are still running them manually every month.
