Backup without transaction data in D365 F&O

I need to copy data from Tier 2 environment to Tier 1 environment without transactional data. Only need master and configuration data. Is there any way where I can achieve this without taking whole database backup through LCS or avoiding manual export/import through DMF?

Well, there is a deprecated class for deleting transactions (SysDatabaseTransDelete), but it's not something I would rely on. You can try it, though; maybe it'll be good enough for your purposes. Exporting and importing the right entities (possibly with help of data packages) is the recommended approach.

By the way, please ask F&O-specific questions in F&O forums, such as the Finance forum. This forum is about D365 in general, which includes other products such as D365 Business Central or Sales.

Hi,

A small addition to the option using the class SysDatabaseTransDelete mentioned by Martin. I do assume you don't want to delete the transactions from your Tier-2 environment. In that case, you would first need to restore a full backup and then delete the transactions. The alternative would be the (manual) export and import.

What is the exact underlying business requirement? Do you want to create a golden configuration environment or would it be a database refresh for testing purposes?
