How to define deferral schedule to be year-end? e.g. 31-DEC-2025, 31-DEC-2026

    To set the deferral schedule to year-end, you need to use the Short-term deferral method option in the Set up revenue and expense deferrals settings. From the image, you can see that there are three options: None, Rolling periods, and Fixed year. To achieve year-end deferrals (e.g., 31-DEC-2025, 31-DEC-2026), select Fixed year as the short-term deferral method. This ensures that all deferrals align with the end of the specified fiscal or calendar year instead of a fixed duration.

    As for the usage of this option, selecting Fixed year is useful when your accounting policies require revenue or expense recognition to be deferred only until the end of a specific year. This can be beneficial for companies that follow a strict financial closing process based on the calendar or fiscal year rather than rolling periods. 

    If you need more control over the schedule, ensure your Recognition journal line description is set appropriately, like Schedule line dates, to provide clarity on how deferrals are being processed.

    I have tried to configure the short-term deferral method but it still does not defer at the year-end. May you provide me more guidelines? Do i need configure the short-term deferral account too?
