CRM Logging

Hello,

We are running CRM 2013 on prem and I was wondering about logging. I have discovered the CRM 2011 trace tool that seems to work very well but is the trace the only form of logging that CRM offers?

If so, are there any pitfalls regarding leaving it turned on or any recommendations any one has?

    Helllo Christian;

    The Trace tool allows the platform tracing. Please note that this is different for web front ends vs back end services (like async) if you have them on different servers. There are performance hits to this and it's not recommended for it to be left turned on. In the CRM 2013 platform this is the biggest way to understand what the platform is doing on server side.

    In future version of CRM there is further logging tools but not until CRM 2015+.

    Hi Christian,

    For this functionality I'd like to recommend a third party CTI called Tenfold. They have features such as click to dial, automatic call logging, easy note taking and task creation, screen pops on inbound and outbound calls, new lead/contact creation when no matching records, support for cases/opportunities and advanced analytics on the backend. They also support MS Dynamics integration.
