Can't use the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook after removing/disabling Internet Explorer

We have effectively removed Internet Explorer 11 company-wide as it is a security risk and now users can no longer launch the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook. They receive the error message: "Sorry, we couldn't load the add-in because Internet Explorer is disabled. Click "See Details" for more information." When I click on the link to See Details it just brings me to a page which tells me to switch to Edge, which I have done, but this still does not resolve the issue. Major showstopper if my users are no longer able to use the Outlook app.

I have the same question (0)

    Hello Joe,

Dynamics 365 App for Outlook need Internet Explorer 11 to run it on Windows client.

It is one of the prerequisites while installing Dynamics 365 App for Outlook

"On Windows clients, Internet Explorer 11 should be installed and enabled but doesn't necessarily need to be the default browser"

So what's going to happen when Microsoft officially ends support on August 17, 2021 for 365 apps using Internet Explorer 11?
