Hi all

I have one account ( as End customer), one account ( as Partner) and one account  ( as distributor) in one opportuniy. I Connected all accounts between each other using Connected to. Where can i see all my connections? Is there any default report  ?

I need to know what accounts are related  and what opportunities are regarding to?

Thanks a lot

    Hi,

    Thank you for your query.

As far as I know, there is no out-of-the-box report to show connections.

You can build your own using Report Wizard, here are steps to follow:

    • Go to Reports -> Create new. (If you do not see Reports section, open Advanced Find and look for Reports, click Results and then click on New button).
    • Click on Report Wizard button.
    • Select Start a new report and click Next.
    • Enter Report Name and Description.
    • Select Connections in Primary Record type, leave Related record type empty, and then click Next.

    • Clear the filter for this report (you can use the filters as per your requirement) and click Next.

    • Click on Click here to add column:

    pastedimage1618260892799v3.png

    • And select following columns:
      • Record type: Connection | Column: Connected From
      • Record type: Connection | Column: Connected To
      • Record type: Connection | Column: Role From
      • Record type: Connection | Column: Role To

You can form the report as you like and also add more columns/groupings as per your need.

    • Click Next, and choose Table Only, then click Next.
    • Then click Next and Finish.
    • Optionally, you can set the Display In property as per you needs.
    • Run the report to see all connections.

You can revisit Report Wizard and adjust your report columns and layout.

    Dear Wahaj Rashid

Thank you a lot for your answer

I have already create similar report but i couldnt see opportunity in that report. The most important for me - see opportunity and all connections between accounts inside it.

    Hi,

When you add Connections from the Opportunity, Connected To is set to the current opportunity.

Here is the data model for your reference:

    • Opportunity is related to Connections using Connected To field.
    • Connected From is linked with Account (you select).

Please create a report as per following steps:

    • Primary Records type: Opportunity
    • Related record type: Connections (Connected To)

    pastedimage1618294360017v1.png

    • Set or clear the filters as per your need, Click Next.
    • Click on Click here to add a grouping and select Opportunity columns.
    • Click on Click here to add a column and select connection columns. (please select Connections from the dropdown to select connection columns).
    • Click Next, select layout and Finish the report.

    • Run the report.

You can adjust the report layout as per your needs.

    Hi Antoshin,

For report, there is no difference between 2016 CRM and D365 online. You can create such report directly.

Guys , it seems i can't set Connection from Opportunity.. Cause i can set connections between Accounts in the Account level. I dont see possibility to set any connections between accounts IN the OPPORTUNITY

Rashid, according to your words -

"Here is the data model for your reference:

Opportunity is related to Connections using Connected To field.

Connected From is linked with Account (you select). "

Can you explain were is Connected To field in the opportunity form?

I can suppose in my company we use CRM with cutted possibilities...

    Hi Antoshin,

If I understand correctly, you have a situation where Opportunity has three Account lookup fields, and you create Connections for each of those three Accounts, so "Connect From" and "Connect To" are both Accounts, then you want to display those Connections on the report, and it needs to contain related Opportunity. Is this correct?

Or Opportunity has an Account sub-grid.

So first we need to figure out if the relationship between the three Accounts and the Opportunity is 1:N or N:1, in other words, is Accounts represented on the Opportunity form as three lookup fields or as a sub-grid?

Now i have only two look-up fields in the opportunity form. There are "Account" And "Partner". And i can see both in the report with related Opportunity.

But we need to add more then two accounts in the opportunity form ( three , four, five and so on)

What is more i cant add new Account look up fields in the opportunity form because of access right.

That is why i decided to use Related Account section in the account form to set connection between accounts, but there are not conection with Opportunity(

We dont have Account sub-grid in the opportunity form!

    I hope i explained understandable....
