Error on Order Product import - The source data is not in the required format

Posted on by 1,320

It seems that I get this error whenever I try to mass update Order Products whose Existing Product contains a comma in the name. Is there any way to ignore or bypass this error?

The source data is not in the required format

    Hi

Please check the Excel file in Notepad++ and find out how the data looks.

Thanks but I do not want to create new records, only update existing. When I put quotations around the Existing Product, I got an error that the product no longer exists. And when I saved as a CSV and import, it prompts me to create new records.

    Hi

When the field delimiter is comma then, you can use " (double quote) for the field if it has comma in it.

    Example:

    Test, Data

    should be

    "Test, Data"

Otherwise you can change the delimiter in your file and you would have to select the same in the import Data wizard.
But have you specified semicolon as delimiter? If you specified comma as delimiter, then this will not work, you should specify ';' as delimiter of your data
Thanks, could you please show me how to do that in excel?
