Hide old Items from POS

Hi Guys,

Currently running RMS with two POS clients and one store operation manager and no HQ.

So I would like to know how do I hide old items so shop keepers cant longer see them ?

You may want to make these items inactive, or simply block the sale of the item. Both options can be found in the "options" tab of the item properties in store manager. I suggest testing each method with one item to see which provides the result you are looking for.

hi there,

I have tried inactive option but item still appears in POS keep mind I dont have Head quarters only running store manager.

I tried both options and also put a reason in reason field still no change.

Where are you seeing the items at POS? Is it in the item lookup window, or do you mean that they are still able to be scanned into a transaction?

When I type the item code and scan it still appears in POS.

Try this: in SO Manager go to File - Configuration and select the Options Tab. Click to expand "POS Options" and check the box that says "Prevent Sale of Inactive Items".

This option is missing.

I think this option is only available at head quarters.

Hi there,

on that item screen there is a button to tick for " May not placed in purchase order" and on the right side "block sales".

Making inactive is only stopping the item to appear in lists, it will still be placed in transaction when scanned.

You would also may want to review the permissions for each shop as if permissions allow the shop can always change the settings.

This feature "Prevent sale of all inactive items" was made available in RMS 2.0 FP2. It is a Store Manager option in this and later versions.

Based on your screen shot above, I believe you need to finish configuring your block date range if you wish to use this method to block the sale of items. The screen shot does not show effective dates selected.

So as suggested I have made the changes but items are still appearing do I need to restart POS ?
