RE: Hide old Items from POS

    hey happyamosfun,

I got some strange issue since I have made changes to does items they longer appear under item search in store operation manager.

I checked sql item table and those item still exist in table.

What could be causing this ?

Don't worry about it I modified the Inactive colum back to '0' from '1' in SQL now I search the item.

    Regards

    Ed

First create your message or messages in SO Manager by going to Database - Item Messages, then apply your choice of message in the "special" tab of the item's properties.

I'm not sure if any of this is version-dependent, these instructions will work for the most recent version of RMS Store Operations Manager.

"however you can assign an item message to the blocked item and it will appear once you proceed past the warning 942. "

Yea that would be handy where do I add this message ?

I'm not aware of a way to edit that error message, however you can assign an item message to the blocked item and it will appear once you proceed past the warning 942.

Another option for what you would like to do, if re-labeling your merchandise is not an option, is to add all of your "code1" "code2" "code3" etc... Item Lookup Codes as an alias in the "AllCodes" item, then change the ILCs of the "code#" items to something else. This would cause the "Allcodes" item to be added to the transaction when any of the alias ILCs were scanned. You could add "OLD" or something similar to the start of the old ILCs so they wouldn't be added when the labels are scanned.

Thanks for that now it give me this warning which is great but is it possible to show a different message e.g please use generic code for this item.

Basically we are replacing following codes with one generic code.

    Code1, Code2 ,Code3 all replaced by AllCodes.

Yes. And you need to reverse your dates if you want the item blocked today. You can also change the block before date to something very far away, like 31/12/2222 and the block after date to 1/1/2000 or something similar if you want the item to always be blocked.

Based on your screen shot above, I believe you need to finish configuring your block date range if you wish to use this method to block the sale of items. The screen shot does not show effective dates selected.

This feature "Prevent sale of all inactive items" was made available in RMS 2.0 FP2. It is a Store Manager option in this and later versions.
