'Voucher can be reused' check box is greyed out.

Can someone explain why the check box next to ' [ ] Voucher can be reused' in the Voucher tab of an Items properties is greyed out. This would be a great feature if it was available.

Strange, the option is documented in the Help file but not available to be used.. Anyone??

Hi Josh,

Are you trying this with Local or Global Vouchers? This option is only available for Global Vouchers.

I tested it on my system. After enabling the Global option on a Voucher item at HQ, the "Voucher can be reused" option became available to select.

Hi Keith,

We are a single store so it is for Local Vouchers. Funny the Help file did not specify that.

I assume the Global Vouchers option is only available in a HQ environment?

I'm not sure why the developers deem this feature is only useful for HQ customers. Please enable this for single store setups who do not use HQ.

Hi Josh,

Global voucher is useful when you have multiple stores under one HQ. Why you need to enable it in Single store.

Perhaps you misunderstood my last post. I understand how Global vouchers work. I am disappointed that the option to reuse vouchers is only valid when using global vouchers. I would like the reuse voucher option available for local vouchers as well.

I am a single store and use that feature. It is not just for multi store environment. I have no idea why it's not allowing you to use it but I reuse vouchers all the time and it has saved me a ton of money in getting new gift cards printed. Most cards come back looking flawless so it would be a shame to not be able to reuse them. To reiterate, I am in a single store environment and I reuse voucher numbers without any problems

Fishhead,

Vouchers use serial numbers. I use the 'enforce unique serial numbers' feature in the configuration settings. It is to my understanding that when using the 'reuse' option in the voucher tab of the item properties it will remove all traces of a previously used voucher with the same number and enable you to use the same serial number again as if it were a fresh voucher while keeping your voucher list with all unique numbers.

I am not wanting to simply reuse numbers, that will enable duplicate numbers to be used simultaneously. That seems like a fraud risk to me.
