Hi experts,

I set up posting definition as follow:

Then, I created and posted "free text invoice"

Error:

I do not know why this is so. You can help me???

Can one be removed?

Hi, Regarding your posting definition issue, have you tried selecting "new" in the transaction posting definitions form and selecting the posting definition Setup (illustrated) in your first screen? Best regards, Ludwig

Hello huyentran450,

The error message indicates that there is something wrong with your Setup in the posting Definition form that you showed initially. In this form there is a test button available that allows you testing your Setup. Can you try using this functionality in order to find out what is wrong?

Hi huyentran450,

You have to turn around your posting definition setup. The account that you enter in matching criteria is the one that you enter on the document line. And the account entered on Generated entries is the offset account that will be generated. In your case the account that you entered on FTI line is the one that should be setup in posting definition matching criteria and not in Generated entries.

I have some problems with Posting definitions like huyentran450. I have read documents of AX 2012 about it. But I can't understand what it is used for. Too many major words to translate in Vietnamese.

If you are well-knowledge about it, can you explain it clearly? Would you give me a example about it?

Would it be possible that you explain us in more detail what you want to achieve exactly?

Further above, you show a free text invoice that records a revenue on account 7111...

I assume that ledger account 1311... is your AR summary account, right?

How should your posting look like?

What do you expect from the posting definition in regards to the voucher to be created?

My manager ask me investigate about posting definitions. I have to research what it is used for ? I read many documents on technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library but I can't understand it. Can you help me?
