Excel export not showing data

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

In a CRM online environment (7.1.2.1039) a user export the members of a marketing list to excel.

Depending on the user the excel shows data or not. If I open the excel in Notapad I can see data in both excel files.
The excel created by a user with problems can be opened but shows no data (worksheet) not on her/his system and not
on someone elses.

What can cause this problem? Is this caused by the office installation? Or what else?

I think you may need to clarify a few things first,

Person A Can download the file and open it with no problem

Person B Can download the file and not see anything

Can Person B open Person A's File and see anything?

Can Person A Open Person B's File and see anything?

What can Person C see on both of the files?

For me it sounds like either an excel installation isuue or permissions

    Hi Robin,

can you do the following activity in your Excel.

    1. Open Excel

    2. Go to File > Options.

    3. Go to Trust Center > Trust center settings.

    4. Click Protected view. Then clear the check boxes for the first two options.

    5. Click OK and then close the Options dialog box.

check whether it resolves your issue.

    Hi Mark,

Can Person B open Person A's File and see anything? Yes

Can Person A Open Person B's File and see anything? No (have tested this)

Person C can open file from person A and see the data, opening file from person B looks empty.

I agree with you that it looks like an office issue, but can't stand it that I don't know how or what to solve :-)

    hi Jayesh,

This did solve the problem, but doesn't explaim what happens. Why can I do the export and open it from my system and can't open the file from someone else?

On my system the both checkboxes where checked and I could still open my exported files. ....????.....

    Hi Robin,

When you open excel for the first time, it asks you to enter your name and initials. It usually picks up your name from your login ID and save it.

So whenever you opens an excel it will take bydefault these credentials.
