Suggested Answer

automatically recalculate a delivery time to the sales side

Good day,

Does anyone know how Business Central automatically adjusts the promised delivery date if the date cannot be met?

We read in confirmed purchase order (using import) with the new dates, the delivery times for purchase change but the sales orders remain on the old date

I want to inform the customer if something is delayed, but this is difficult. I now go through every order and then do an atp / ctp but this is a lot of work.

I hope someone has a solution.

Thanks in advance.

I have the same question (0)

    Hello,

Would Edit in Excel help here to update dates in bulk?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

In reading your question I think you are talking about two different topics: 1) Promised Delivery Date on a Sales Order and Order Promising functionality and order promising date. I am attached a handout I give my customers to learn about the Dates on a Sales Document to help understand how they change and can be used. This will help you with the field Promised Delivery Date.

As for Order Promising Date, this relates to the ATP/CTP feature, which can update the Sales Orders individually.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../sales-how-to-calculate-order-promising-dates

Others have ask can you do this in bulk and it is not available and a good idea to submit. You could talk to your Partner to work on an extension for you. Updating Receiving times for Purchase Orders will not auto-updates Sales Orders.

I am not sure if you are creating an Order Tracking or Reservation link between SO and PO. The dates will not update but the visibility to the PO supplying the SO can be seen on the document.

One last thing, if you are updating your PO's you might consider, as Marco noted, using Excel to update the SO.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hoi Marco,

    Alvast bedankt voor jouw reactie.

    Hallo,

    NL

    ///

I did ask around internally and especially my French colleague, but I think he stopped when he noticed the Dutch language.

I personally think that the answer from Steve is the correct one: this does require customization.

    Thanks (en fijne dag verder).
