CRM 2015 - Mailbox Enabling

(0) ShareShare

Hello,

I am trying to a mailbox to successfully pass the Incoming and Outgoing Email Status.

Right now the tests are failing. (See screen shot)

I am seeing a note that the mailbox is disabled.

I have activated the mail box under "Settings, Email Configuration"  Is there somewhere else I need to go to enable the mailbox?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

What are the email server settings that you used? Are you on CRM Online? If you set up an email router, there may be a connection issue if the settings under Email Server Profile. Of course, if you're using Exchange Online, your connection issue will be expedited by contacting Office 365 Support.

    Hi,

Sorry, I am not able to see your print screen. Could you please upload it again?

How is your mailbox configured? Server Side Sync, Email Router, CRM for Outlook?

    Hello Nathaniel,

    This is for CRM Online.

For Email Server Settings are See screen shot below.

Appointments, Contacts, and Tasks: (This option is grayed out. I am seeing alerts to change it to Server-Side Synchronization but I am unable to.)

Thank you for taking the time to look at this.  I appreciate the help!

It does not look like my screen shot wants to show its self.

So I will just type the settings I have selected.

    Synchronization Method

    Server Profile: Microsoft Exchange Online

Incoming Email: Server-Side Synchronization or Email Router

Outgoing Email: Server-Side Synchronization or Email Router

Appointments, Contact, and Tasks: Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook  (This option is grayed out so I am unable to change it.  Even though I have alerts telling me to.)

    I appreciate the help!

    Hi,

Ok, thanks for sending the detailed information.

I think you are using Server Side Synchronization, right?

If so, please check these items:

    1. Go to Settings > Email Settings > Email Configuration

Make sure the 'Processing Email When' field is defined as 'Server Synchronization'

For more information about the process to configure server side sync, access:

    technet.microsoft.com/.../dn531109.aspx

    2. In the mailbox, click on 'Approve email' and 'Test and Enable mailbox' (on this window, select the option "Sync items with Exchange from this CRM Organization only, even if Exchange was set to sync with a different Organization.".

    2. If you are using CRM Online, make sure the Exchange Online is in the same O365 tenant. Unless it will be unsupported.

For more info about supported scenarios:

    Hello Flavia,

Thank you for taking the time to look into this issue.  I was able find the issue.

    The mailbox was not "Approved"

I was told that I had been added to O365 Administration.  (Which you need to approve email accounts.)  Once I was added to O365 Administration I approved the email account and everything worked great.

I would recommend that in future versions Users get a toast from CRM saying, "You do not have approval to "Approve Email" because you are not an O365 Administrator.

Thank you and everyone else that took the time to look at this issue!  I sure appreciate it!

Hello there, I am having the same issue here with the same escenario, could you please tell what else can I do? I have done everything you explained above but the option is still grayed out, any ideas why?

The test still shows the appointments as NOT RUN

Did you solve your issue? I'm having the same issue with a mailbox related to a queue. It is working for user-mailboxes. But I would like to synchronize appointments for a shared mailbox in Office 365/Exchange Online.
