Advenced find - Attribute Mapping between 2 entities

Hi,

I want some ideas for the below scenario.

I have two entities 1)  contact  2) custom entity.

When I go to advanced find and search for contact, instead of showing contact's all attribute value I also want some attributes from the custom entity. Is there any way to do that? Is there anything like mapping?

Thanks,

Krutika

You can display columns from related entities, use Edit Columns / Add Columns / Record Type (picklist). Regards, Grzegorz

    Thanks Grzegorz,

The problem with this solution is both entities are directly not in link. To link and adding the columns in the advanced find, both entities should have direct mapping and there are around 40 attributes I want to map. Is there any way I can do coding or any other solution?

I'm not sure if I understand you well, but to display related columns in advanced find you just need to define relationship between two entities. If you cannot link these entities how would you know what data from custom entity is related with specified contact...

You are right. Thanks for your time Grzegorz. Let me tell you in detail, we have 1: N(configurable cascading) relationship between contact and custom entity.  In the 'add columns' option for the 'contact' in the advanced find the custom entity is not showing.

You can only use N:1 relationships in advanced find. I can see 3 options: 1) search for custom entity and add contact columns to the view, 2) create new relationship, 3) build a report to show contacts with its related custom entities.
