Create Report with Record Count group by Owner

(1) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

Hi,

I'm trying to create this report using the Report Wizard in CRM.

"Number of new Leads created in the past 7 days, group by Owner. I would like a chart with total count of Leads by Owner."

I followed this example and created a new custom field called Total Count Number (I made it a Whole Number so I can do a Sum in the report and I can create a Chart). I am also going to update this field to be = 1 for all Leads so I can use it as the Sum.

These are my report settings.
- Primary entity = Leads
- Date Created = Last 7 Days
- Group by Owner
- Group by Total Count Number
- I want to set the Summary Type of the Total Count Number grouping to = Sum (so that I can create a Chart with the Count) but it only lets me select None or Count. How can I select Sum?

I also found this video helpful, although I am unable to select Sum as it mentions at min 2.00 on the video: www.youtube.com/watch

Any ideas?

    Hi Sally,

Are you creating your report by using the FetchXml? If so, you have to use the aggregate 'count' in your primary field and groupby 'last-seven-days' in your CreatedOn field.

Hope this gives you an idea.

Hi CRMFan, I'm using the Report Wizard as it seemed like it would be possible to do using that. However, I'm not seeing Sum in the Summary Type dropdown. I'm not familiar with FetchXml so will need to get a developer involved if this is not possible via the Report Wizard.

Hello Sally - the reason why you can't choose "Sum" in that case is because you aren't choosing a numerical type attribute. If it was a whole number or a currency field, sum would show up. If it's any other type of field, all you have is Count.

Thanks Own. I was choosing a numerical type attribute. This is what I mentioned above:

"Total Count Number (I made it a Whole Number so I can do a Sum in the report and I can create a Chart)". I would expect "whole number" is a numerical type attribute.

Either way, unfortunately I no longer have access to the CRM system as I no longer work at the company where I was doing this, so I'm unable to complete this now anyway. Thanks anyway!
