Hello,

We want to understand if there are any differences in the functionalities provided by BC - Premium License and BC - Device Licenses for Cloud version.

Can a device license provide the same functionalities and features of a Premium license? (We understand it will be attached to one device)

The device license applies to certain specific scenarios and its associated functionality I recommend you check the licensing guide where the different uses and functionality are collected .

As far as I know, this is not exactly the same as Premium, as the Device license is priced lower.

Business Central Device Licenses

Hello,

As others have indicated Device licenses are designed for use on a handheld or 'shop floor' PC. I understand they allow users to preform any actions they would as if it was a Premium or Essential licensed environment (you cant mix Premium and Essenial in the same envirionment).

Setting your envrionment to use deviced liceses requires the use of Intune, creating a specific security group and assiging all the users and the devicve licenses to that securty group. The exact name of the sceurty group is : Dynamics 365 Business Central Device Users
