What causes the above error?

Is it more likey to occur in SL 2011?

    Thanks for the reply.  I used the above solution to resolve the issue, but I want to makes sure it doesn't happen again.  Do you know what causes the above issue and do you know of a way to back post a sales journal without going into Initialize Mode?

    Please try the following steps to resolve this issue

    Use Initialize Mode to post to a prior period in Order Management Shippers (40.110.00), Shipment Confirmation (40.117.00) or Sales Orders (40.100.00) if the shipper is still open.

    Note - If System Message 15373 recurs when already in Initialize Mode, verify that the Microsoft Dynamics SL User has Initialize Level Access Rights to the Sales Order, Shippers, and/or Shipment Confirmation screens.
