How we can Enable Copilot Sidebar in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operation Development Environment?

Hello,

We're looking to debug a plugin created in Co-Pilot Studio within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations development environment. To streamline our debugging process, we want to enable the Copilot Sidebar. Could someone provide guidance on activating this feature? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi,

There is no option to install the Copilot Sidecar on a development environment. You can read the pre-requisites in the documentation: Enable Copilot capabilities in finance and operations apps (preview) - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn

Maybe it can work with a new unified development environment. I haven't tried this myself. I activated it on a tier-2 sandbox only. Unified developer experience for finance and operations apps (preview) - Power Platform | Microsoft Learn

Hi AA-14051155-0,

To enable CoPilot sidebar in Dynamics 365 FO Development environment, ensure you follow some of the steps here. Assuming this is a Microsoft hosted environment), follow the steps highlighted below.

1. In Maintenance mode, enable SQL row version change tracking under System Administration -> Setup -> License Configuration.

2. Move the environment from maintenance mode to normal mode and Under System Administration -> Feature management enable this feature.

3. Once done, you can restart your services and you should be able to see the coPilot features enabled by default, as showcased in the screen clip below.
