Hi,

Currently am using CRM 2013 online.

I want to send email notification when owner is changed for account record.

I want to send email to previous owner and new owner. please suggest me the solution.

The person who logged in will be the primary owner for Account record and he choose Assign feature to change the Ownership.

Thanks in Advance!!!

    Hi Raj,

Using workflow, triggered when on Assign

Actually you can send email once the record was assigned, but it is only can send the new owner, unless your previous owner is same with the created by or the modified by, but I dont assume like that. Out of the Box Workflow cannot capture the previous value since it will run after (Post) Assign.

If you really wanted that feature, I think you should create a plugin to store the previous owner onPreUpdate, if owner field was changed, then store the previous owner.

Then, create a workflow, after assign, send email to Previous Owner and Owner.

Otherwise, you can try to create a custom workflow:

    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

    Hi,

I would create a new field on the account for the previous user.

When the record is created, pre-populate this field with the owner.

When the record is assigned send the email to the new owner and user in the previous user field, then set the previous user to the owner.

This isn't so much a previous user field as it is a 'next previous user' field only used in this workflow.

    HI,

You need to write a plugin for this ,

In this use pre image for old User

and post image for new user

using the plugin you can send the email for two users

    Thanks

    Soma

I don't know when this became available, but now if you make a workflow process real time instead of background, it will give you before/after options for record updates. So now you can create a workflow process that is triggered before the record is assigned that sends an email to the "current" (about to be previous) owner and another process to send the email to the new owner.  It is two separate emails versus a single email to both, but if that is okay for what you need, then at least you can do it without a new field or plugin.
