sending series email

hi.
my journey looks like this - the consumer get an email reminder and afterwards get sms also- as seen in the pic below.
the request is that the consumer will get a email every week 3 times , but also will get a sms message in this time.
 
* I saw that in the email trigger there is an option send series of email  - (you can see in pic the option -the last one),
my question is if i use this to sent for 3 weeks (series of 3 emails) whether the journey will send also the sms( that appears after) and progress to the sms triggers ,
or it will not progress until the 3 email will be finish and will be sent  and after this the journey will progress to the sms triggers.
 
my goal is to send email+sms every week for period of 3 weeks. 
in order to do so i need to write these triggers  (email and the sms) 3 time will a tile of  a week waiting between?
or can i optimize the process with the series*?
if it possible to write the triggers one (email and then sms without copy it 3 time in use og the series option - i will like to explain me how to do it.
