BC Subscription Module Invoices have no Payment Service

OK, a big issue for us as we're implementing the new Subscription Module in Business Central.

It seems that invoices created via this module have no "Payment Service" selected:

It can be manually selected by hitting the 3 dots but we're managing hundreds of subscriptions and need to invoice for them monthly.  I can't imagine having to select the payment services for each of them.

Invoices created manually have the payment service as they should.  I can't find anything wrong with the configuration, this appears to be some sort of bug.

Can any of you confirm this?

Thank you.

I appreciate a couple of you confirming what I thought.

Talk about an epic oversight.  Many companies will use this module to manage client software subscriptions, but the module cannot connect the payment service which, in my opinion most companies would use, especially for electronic subscriptions.

Also, invoice totaling is all messed up as well.

    I'll pass along the suggestions...

    Sad.

    Hello,

Yes, invoices generated via the Subscription Module in Business Central do not inherit the default Payment Service unlike manually created invoices. This is not a configuration issue but rather a limitation in the Subscription Module, which doesn't automatically assign the Payment Service Code. It's Standard if you want you can submit this idea to Microsoft.

Hope this answer will help you!

Hi, This seems to be standard behavior, but I suggest you submit your question to the BC Yammer Group below. Microsoft technicians will see it and give you a more accurate response.

Yes, this appears to be a limitation in the Subscription Billing module — invoices generated through it don’t auto-populate the Payment Service field. It's not a setup issue but likely a missing assignment in the module’s posting logic. A workaround would require a customization to auto-fill the payment service during invoice creation. You can also report it to Microsoft or check with your partner for potential fixes.Yes, this appears to be a limitation in the Subscription Billing module — invoices generated through it don’t auto-populate the Payment Service field.
