Need to Change a PA Employee from Hourly to Salary

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

The user needs to change an hourly employee to salaried in Project Accounting. They inactivated all hourly pay codes for the employee and made the salaried codes the default. They do not use time codes. However, on the employee Project Card, when they attempt to change the Default pay code, they get the error "You cannot use a salary pay code for employees who are paid by the hour.". When they attempt to change the Employment Type to Salaried they get the error, "This pay code is not valid for a salary employee. Please select a different pay code." , which they cannot do because of the first error.

There apparently is some reference to the employee being an hourly employee lurking somewhere that I am missing.

Thanks!

My apologies. Yes. We found a resolution. Delete the default pay code, leave it blank, change the employment type then select the new default pay code. Thanks!

Where you able to find an answer to this issue?  I have a client with the same problem.
