Hi

Is it possible, in CRM Online, to upload a number of pdf documents in bulk and attach them to their respective Contact record?
Thanks

Moira.

    Wow, great question!

I was intrigued so I have been searching and came across this page, which suggests that it is possible.

    http://mscrmshop.blogspot.com.au/2012/06/importing-notes-attachments-in-crm2011.html

I think will help you a lot. I'm going to try it out right now.

    EDIT---

I have tried out the technique in the blog and it works a treat in CRM 2011 on-premise.

One thing to note is that the folder containing the PDF's must be called 'Attachments' or it won't work.

I would love to hear if this technique also works with CRM online.

Hi, can you please confirm whether you tried out the technique using PDF files? As I had tried something similar (on CRM Online) but it told me PDFs are not supported. Tell you the truth, it was quicker to just go ahead and attach the files one by one, and so I did, but before I spend time testing this, I need to know for sure that the process can be done with PDF files. Thank you.

    Hi,

Yes, I can confirm that I managed to get this working with .pdf files. It is odd that you can attach them manually but not via the import method. There could be some differences between on-premise and online of which we are unaware.

Have you tried other file types (something simple like .txt)? It could be that the method is the problem, not the file type. Other than that I really don't know what to suggest.
