As a partner, I can't publish on any Business Central sandbox from VSCode after a month

Hello,

I'm a Business Central AL developper at a Microsoft Partner company. We are beginners with Business Central on SaaS. We have a tenant, with a production environnment and 3 sandboxes on it. On one of these sandboxes we have a very useful set of data, but after a month, we can't publish our App anymore from VSCode or on any of our sandboxes. We have to recreate a new sandbox from the Production environment to be able to publish again from VSCode and test our code. But by doing so, we lose the data we created during the month on our sandboxes.

I tried to copy a 30 days old sandbox, and to create a new sandbox, but the inability to publish on it remains.

Is there a way for sandboxes to not be "blocked" to publication after a month ?

Hi,

Have you tried publishing an extension in a different sandbox? can you use the sandbox regardless of publishing an app on your sandbox?

Please make sure you are signed in as the developer when publishing your extension through VSCode, and that you are publishing the code with the main admin account..

I can't publish on other sandboxes that I created 30 days ago or more. But I can publish on sandboxes I have created today.

I still can use these sandboxe to navigate on Business Central, enter and modify data.

And here are the permissions and the licence of my user account.

So, you are unable to publish your code to the sandbox you created 30 days ago but are able to publish to the sandbox created today? Also, could you please provide the error message you are facing when trying to publish to the old sandbox.. I mean the error which stops you to publish your code in your old sandbox envrionment..

Here is the error message in the VSCode Output :

Reason: Votre licence ne vous accorde pas les autorisations suivantes sur TableData Published Application Application publiée : IndirectInsert pour la société CRONUS FR.

Pour afficher les détails sur vos autorisations, consultez la page Autorisations effectives. Pour signaler un problème, reportez-vous à l’ID de session serveur suivant : « 938 ».

I am unable to read the error message.. based on the text TableData translate, it seems like you might not have permission to modify a specific table. If you are modifying a system table in your code and you do not have the required permission in your permission set, you can try adding the permission in your codeunit liek this..

I don't think it is about permissions that my code grants, because I can publish the same code on a sandbox but not on another.

The error states that the license does not grant the necessary permissions on your TableData Published..

It could be a technical issue with the old sandbox like outdated dependencies etc.. or with the connection to the sandbox or maybe access permissions might have changed in the past 30 days.... I mean it is difficult to know the exact cause of your error..

Anyways it would be better if you ask some other experts about this issue... or double check the permission set to make sure that you have necessary permissions to perform the action..

There is indeed a difference on the table that causes the error. But I can't grant permission in VSCode on this table because the scope is OnPrem.

If someone has an explenation, I would be glad to understand this case.

Hi,

This is not a permissions issue, To use the sandbox Environment we must have the Partner Sandbox Environment License if you want to use the sandboxes for longer periods otherwise it will be expired, and need to create the new one.
