Purchase Order Ship-to Address repeating customer name 3 times

Posted on by 16
Hi,

I am using Dynamics 365 Business Central.

I want to edit purchase order layout because when I send purchase order to client it doesn`t show the postcode and full address. It is repeating customer name 3 times and after showing address line 3.

I have tried to edit it on word file it is showing like below;

ShiptoAddress_Lbl
ShipToAddr1
ShipToAddr2
ShipToAddr3
ShipToAddr4
ShipToAddr5

However when I add ShiptoAddr6 or ShipToPostcode it is changing the latest line I believe this is the problem.

My first question is why the postcode is not appear on original purchase order pdf file ?

Second question is , why I can not add here Postcode? when I add it Nav: / is coming default.

Any help it would be really appreciate it.

Thank you.

    Thank you for your response.

I have done exactly same before

    This was where I stuck

When I copy and add after ShiptoAddr5 it is changing ShipToPostcode

    ShipToAddr5 dissapeared.

When I individually add new one I can not Nav:/ it

Can you please help me how I can Navigate it ?

Hello! ---please find some thoughts/suggestions on what/where to look:

    1.Verify the Data Set

Ensure that the purchase order data set includes the necessary fields (e.g., postcode). This can be checked and modified in the Report Dataset if you have development access.

    1. Navigate to Report Layout Selection:

      • Go to Business Central.
      • Use the search bar to find Report Layout Selection.
    2. Select the Purchase Order Report:

      • Find and select the report used for purchase orders (e.g., Standard Purchase Order).
    3. Check the Dataset:

      • Click on Custom Layouts and ensure the dataset includes ShipToPostcode or relevant fields.

    2: Edit the Word Layout

To edit the Word layout, follow these steps:

    1. Download the Current Layout:

      • In the Report Layout Selection, find the purchase order report.
      • Select Custom Layouts.
      • Download the current Word layout for editing.
    2. Open the Word Layout:

      • Open the downloaded Word layout file.
      • Ensure you are in Developer Mode in Word to see the placeholders.
    3. Add the Postcode Field:

      • Find where the address fields are placed.
      • Insert a new placeholder for the postcode.
      • Ensure it matches the exact field name in the dataset, e.g., ShipToPostcode.
    4. Adjust the Layout:

      • Ensure the customer name is not repeated multiple times by checking the placement of the ShipToName field.
      • Adjust the layout to remove any redundant fields.
    5. Save and Upload the Layout:

      • Save the modified Word document.
      • Upload it back to Business Central through the Custom Layouts page.

    3: Test the Layout

    1. Generate a Test Purchase Order:

      • Create a test purchase order to see the changes.
      • Ensure that the postcode and full address are displayed correctly.
    2. Verify the Output:

      • Check the generated PDF to ensure it matches the expected layout.
