VAT Date and Posting From and To Dates

Hi there

My customer is using the new VAT Date in UK BC.

In Gen. Led. Setup
  • VAT Date usage is set to /Enabled/
  • Default VAT Date is set to /Posting Date/
They often post docs with a different VAT Date to Posting Date. They are very disciplined over Month End and change their Allow Posting From and To Dates to prevent posting into a closed period.

However, they've found that they cannot post a doc within their allowed dates if the VAT Date is outside that range.

The same is true if the Default VAT Date is set to /Doc Date/ also.

Is there something I'm doing wrong here?
I have the same question (0)

    Thanks Inge

Yeah, I've read that but it doesn't solve the problem my customer is experiencing. They want the VAT Date to be free from the restriction created by the From/To Dates on the Gen. Led. Setup and User Setup.

It doesn't matter if the VAT Date is set to follow Doc Date or Posting Date. The user still can't create a VAT date outwith the posting date restriction.

    Hi,

Experiencing the same problem - even though we have GL Ledger Setup set to Default Date "posting date" it's pulling from the Document Date and as you mentioned this can be in the wrong period or a closed period.
The work around is to change the Vat Date on the Sales Order, which can be cumbersome. It looks like a bug because one of the options for Default Date is "Document Date"

    Anybody found a fix?

    Thanks
    V
