Uploading 800+ historical GL lines using the same Processing Group Template at the same time causes single journal to split into multiple journal

We're in the middle of testing importing historical data into AX 2012 testing environment, 2 of us, importing different data from csv files, one 800+ lines, the other 1500+ lines, but using the same Processing Group Template called "Opening Balance", importing at the same time, causes our single Journal to split into multiple journal, each with imbalance total.  It doesn't take long to import, mine took about 7 minutes but since the journals are split into multiple imbalance journals they became unusable and had to be discarded.  However when one is importing the journal one at a time, it was fine.  Is this a known issue?  Has anyone encountered this before?  If so, is there a workaround or fix for this?

    Hi Nokko,

How did you define to use or generate a journal number? If you create journals without lines first, you can use the journal batch number in you csv file. Then it will not generate new journals, but use the specified one.

I have not seen your issue as I never tried to load staging data simultanious.

Thanks for all the responses guys, apparently it is not an out of the box feature i was told, and therefore it is not really a Microsoft default issue, anyways, the consultant has resolved the issue.

    Hi Nokko,

It would be nice if you share what solved the issue. So other persons with the same question can learn from it.

I understand Andre and i would love to don't get me wrong, unfortunately, the "Import Ledger Journal Lines" feature is a customised script that's developed by the consultant and i have no access to the script behind it.  It is placed under GL -> Periodic.

I do remember that the first symptom was many lines of a single journal would be split into 2 or more journals if someone else is loading another large journal, this result in imbalance of journal.  Then, the consultants fixed their script, and the new symptom then became the journal number no longer split but the voucher number is now split into 2 within the same journal number, this result in imbalance of Per Voucher even though Journal balance check is zero.  The consultant eventually fixed this.  Again, i'm sorry as i'm not technical enough to go behind the scene to take a look at the script unfortunately.

Initially when i posted this, i thought it is an out of the box feature therefore hoping that a configuration can be changed at the user interface end, not the back end with script, to overcome this issue, but i later found out that this is in fact not an out of the box feature.

    Hi Nokko,

Thanks for the feedback. So in fact it was not related to Data Import/Export Framework but a customization if I understand you correctly.

I can follow a bit what happened. In my opinion most consultants should not write import scripts. Leave it to the developers.
