HI,
I have read the following post and plan to implement the changes but wanted to ask if there was any other way to configure communicator to send email. Is there anything natively within SL?
https://mbs.microsoft.com/customersource/documentation/howtodocuments/msd_slconfigurecommunicatortriggersqlserver2005or2008.htm?printpage=false&sid=hrlr1nxyc02d2twzu03soj55&stext=1.Download the Database Mail Communicator Trigger
Also, I cannot for the life of me remember where I had to go in and configure the users to be able to receive mail. I seem to remember the setting was to be configured to 'both' but not sure where that setting is! :-(
Thanks
Hi Jarrod,
In Employee and Resource Maintenance, there are Send Mail To options of Communicator, Mail, and Both. If you set this option to either Communicator or Both, the PJCOMMUN records are not deleted. If you set this option to Mail, then those records are deleted and are not retained.
You can just use Communicator to Mail functionality in the Communicator module if you don't want to use the trigger functionality. You need to have it running on a dedicated machine with Outlook installed with a profile set up.
There is a user guide for the Communicator module which should be helpful. Let me know if you have additional questions.
