When working with Resource Costs, what is the difference between Direct Unit Cost and Unit Cost? My immediate assumption is Direct Unit Cost is Salary, while Unit Cost would be Salary + Cost of Employee.
David,
You have to look at the entire Resource Card. See mine below. Direct Cost is the cost of one unit of the resource. Now you also have Indirect Cost %, which could be freight or other indirect costs related to the direct cost and resource. This totals to the Unit Cost field.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Steve
Hi
As Steve mention Unit Cost in Resource Card is equal to Direct Cost + % Indirect Cost. But here since it is no "% indirect cost" available you need to manually add that to Direct Unit Cost then enter it in Unit Cost. As you said this could be Salary + Cost of Employee or Salary + Overhead + Up Charge ..
This Resource Cost is alternative ro resource cost. See below
docs.microsoft.com/.../projects-how-setup-resources
This does make it a bit clearer thank you.
So the combination of the two answers have really cleared this up for me. This also make the doc a bit more understandable. Thanks..
