I have a working SIP TAPI driver running in Windows. If I initiate a phone call from Outlook for instance, my handset will handle the call.

I was hoping that, based on the above, if I click on a telephone number from within Dynamics 365, a phone call would be initiated. Instead, a new IE or Edge window opens with BLANK.

Any ideas? I presume basic TAPI functionality will work with Dynamics 365?

Dynamics 365 supports Skype and Skye for Business integration out of the box. If you want to link to another softphone, or a phone system, you are going to need a CTI tool to bridge that. Just hooking a TAPI driver to Windows doesn't bridge the gap to Dynamics.

following SIP TAPI website reference, there isn't any integration between Dynamics 365 and this product.

Thank you everyone for your replies.

Yes, I didn't expect D365 to have any direct integration with a particular phone system, but I did expect it to integrate with built in telephony drivers in Windows, which is all I'm asking.

I will investigate the various 3rd party CTI packages available.

Hi MDS, AMC Technology has OOTB integration with SIP / TAPI systems to provide telephony controls in the Dynamics window and drive screen pop. What telephony vendor are you leveraging today? Happy to help in any way I can. Have also provided a 20 second clip of what it would look like in Dynamics!
