SSRS Report: Query execution failed for Dataset Company'

SSRS Report: Error messages. When I try to run a Paginated Report, an error message is displayed:

An error has occurred during report processing      rsProcessingAborted.

Query execution failed for Dataset 'Company'         rsErrorExecuringCommand

I tried to open the report in Report Builder to review the Dataset 'Company' hoping to determine why the Query is failing, but I receive a message that 'The webpage cannot be dispalyed'.

What condition typically causes such an outcome?

This error can mean a number of things, from a column that no longer exist in the query being executed to generate the report, or a missing table, or a missing view, etc. There's couple ways to troubleshoot this error:

    1. You can enable Remote Errors on the SSRS report server (docs.microsoft.com/.../enable-remote-errors-reporting-services), then re-running the report to view more details on the error - NOTE: your database admin may not be happy with this.

    2. You can open the report in Report Builder, by opening Report Manager then clicking on the DDL next to the report name and selecting the Edit in Report Builder option.

You can then preview the report and you will sure get a more descriptive error.

    Post back with your findings.
