Hi Ax Experts,

When we are closing inventory in

--> Inventory management/Periodic/Closing and adjustment, menu Close Procedure ->3. close

the critical error below is showed during the proccess.

We access the class 'InventCostItemDim' method 'preCloseNonFinancial' and saw what condition throw the critical error.

And consult the transactions for item 014974 and found the associated values below, but I don´t no why solve it. Maybe the critical error message isn´t so clear.

Yes. The error message is most definitely lacking as it often is in AX (thou it is getting better).

Looks like you might have some inconsistent data comrade.

It might look like you are trying to settle a record that has already been settled before. There is a flag that should exclude these records for being processed in inventory closing. Try checking if this is so and why this record still open. You can try to manually activate this parameter for the record to exclude it from your closing in the future.

    Happy hunting.

    Hello Fredrik,

    Thanks for your help.

I have another question, where is the flag that should exclude these records for being processed in inventory closing?

    Thanks again.

    Hello, Pablo,

    Have you solved the problem?

Please, describe your sollution. We got complitely same error for a few items.

    Hello Petrova,

In a workaround procedure we (1)executed the consistency check (below) and after (2)closed the inventory day by day (like day 01, after day 02, ... after day 31) and the critical erros did not occur more. But four months past the critical error appeared again and we open an incident in microsoft Support that is in analyse yet.

PS: After day by day closed the critical erros did not appear and we canceled all this closed lines and close the entire month and the critical errors did not occurs again. Sincerely I did not understand why.

    I hope helped a little.

Pablo, thank you so much for the responce.

In our case checking ended with an Exception.

By the way we've analyzed data in InventTrans and found out that the problem was in wrong values of ReturnInventTransOrigin for some recs in InventTrans.

Now we should fix recs and find causes of wrong values.

    Pablo or Maria,

Did you ever hear back from Microsoft or figure out how to remedy this situation?  I have the same error trying to activate new item prices, and it is due to the system thinking we have 6 more on hand than show up in the transactions tables.  Not sure how to start attacking this.

    Pablo, hello again.

It seems like we cant fix our problem.

Have you already got any response from Microsoft Support on this case?

    Hello,

Not yet. Microsoft is analising. Sorry.

In your case, from which month this error has happened?

I can't state but seems like the very first occasion was a year ago.
