Good call. I would add that it's actually a best practice to leave that option enabled (it's on by default.)

This is fixed by changing below system settings in our instance.
enable Quick Find record limit in your affected instance in order to mitigate this issue. In order to do this, navigate to Settings -> Administration -> System Settings. Under General tab, set “Enable Quick Find record limits” to yes.
